This week offers us Valentine’s Day on February 14th, a beautiful time to pause and reflect on love. There are so many ways to give and receive love in this life. As the saying goes…“Love makes the world go round.”

Love comes in many forms…romantic love, the love between a parent and a child, big hearted feelings shared with a beloved pet, the love of a favourite meal and on it goes.

“Where there is love there is life.” ― Mahatma Gandhi

Love, love, love. It is captured in…

Book titles: Eat, Pray, Love.
Wedding vows: I will love you until death do us part.
Music lyrics: I will always love you.

“When we love, we always strive to become better than we are. When we strive to become better than we are, everything around us becomes better too.” ― Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist

Journal Writing Activity

List making is a fun journaling activity. You can make lists of 20, 50, a 100 items – names, events, memories, ideas – we can make lists about and for anything! This week, perhaps you might like to try list making for love with the help of the following four journal prompts:

  1. Who do you love?
  2. What do you love?
  3. How do you love?
  4. How do you care for yourself, just as you would care for someone you really, really love?

This week, write for the love of it!

“Love is like the wind, you can’t see it but you can feel it.” ― Nicholas Sparks
