Story & Prompts
The stories of our lives are at the heart of our journaling practices. We live our stories and we can capture them in the pages of our journals too. Stories can spark inspiration and insights!
Here is a story that really touched my heart and I hope it touches your heart too. This story made the pages of my journal!
You will also find some journaling prompts you can use for self-reflection while letting the power of love lead the way in your writing and life.
A LOVE STORY

My honey picked me up from the airport upon my recent return from Greece. It was late at night and I could see him as I was walking towards the arrivals, despite being blurry eyed after 20+ hours of travel home. Part of why I could see him was that he was holding a big bouquet of flowers to welcome me home (see photo).
Peter often gets me flowers and it is a loving gesture that always warms my heart. Recently, I noticed that our son, Jesse, who is 18 years old, was gifting his girlfriend a bouquet of flowers for their one-year anniversary together.
I thought it was very sweet how Jesse often gives Sophia flowers, the same way he sees his Dad give me flowers. I mentioned this to Peter and he asked me, “did you know that Sophia has saved all the flowers that Jesse has given her?”
I was so surprised and touched by this and I asked Sophia about it. She sent me a photo of all the flowers she has lovingly dried and saved over the past year. She has them all hanging on her bedroom wall (see image above).
I have often said, and demonstrated, to my sons that it is not always the big things we do that make the difference, but the thoughtful things we do consistently that can really show our love.
This wall of dried flowers in Sophia’s room truly touches my heart. It is an example of how one act of love, can create another act of love.
Our gestures of love from one to another, can ripple out and spread the beauty of love to many others.
I have always loved the expression “flower power” and I love it even more now!
